The weather bureau PAGASA has announced that Tropical Storm Aghon has intensified into a severe tropical storm. The storm made its eighth landfall in Lucena City, Quezon at 4:30 AM on Sunday, bringing heavy rains to the region. The low pressure area spotted east of Surigao del Sur has developed into Tropical Depression Aghon, with Signal No. 1 raised in several areas.
