2024 Regular Season Schedule

The Benedictine University mens lacrosse team will open their 2024 regular season at home against Marian University on April 9 at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles will look to build on their successful 2023 campaign, which saw them finish with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-2 mark in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.

Benedictine returns a number of key players from last seasons team, including All-NACC selections Trevor Albert (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Stevenson), Jack Hayes (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North), and Ryan Smith (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett). Albert led the team in scoring with 32 goals and 15 assists, while Hayes was a force on the defensive end with 34 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers. Smith was a key contributor in the midfield, scoring 17 goals and adding 10 assists.

The Eagles will also welcome a talented group of newcomers to the roster this season. Head coach Matt Gregori is excited about the potential of his team and believes they have the talent to compete for a NACC championship.

"We have a great group of guys this year," Gregori said. "They're hard-working, dedicated, and they have a lot of talent. I'm really excited to see what they can accomplish this season."

The Eagles will open their season with a three-game homestand, facing Marian University, Aurora University, and Concordia University Wisconsin. They will then hit the road for a pair of games before returning home to host Lakeland University on April 20.

Benedictine will close out the regular season with a road game at Concordia University Chicago on April 27. The NACC Tournament is scheduled to begin on May 1, with the championship game being played on May 5.

The Eagles are confident that they have what it takes to make a run at the NACC championship this season. They have a talented roster, an experienced coaching staff, and a lot of momentum from last season's success.
