Carlo Ancelotti Begins Reign as Chelsea Manager
Former AC Milan Coach Takes Reins at Stamford Bridge
Ancelotti Replaces Scolari as Chelsea Boss
Carlo Ancelotti has officially started his tenure as manager of Chelsea Football Club. The Italian coach arrived in London on Monday morning and was immediately introduced to his new players at the team's training ground.
Ancelotti joins Chelsea from AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title in 2004 and the UEFA Champions League in 2007. He also led the Rossoneri to victory in the FIFA Club World Cup in 2007 and the UEFA Super Cup in 2004. Ancelotti's arrival at Chelsea is seen as a major coup for the club, who are hoping to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
Ancelotti replaces Luiz Felipe Scolari, who was sacked by Chelsea last week following a poor run of results. The Blues have won just one of their last five matches and are currently 11th in the Premier League table.
Ancelotti is expected to make a number of changes to the Chelsea team, including bringing in new players and changing the team's formation.
